Hi everyone, If anyone can give me some feedback on this paragraph on gender roles in Rear Window that would really appreciated!!!

Hitchcock presents every gender role offering them to the audience to be closely observed and analyzed. All of these male gender roles are embodied by Hitchcock's protagonist Jeff. Jeff is immediately personified as a traditional male character through his blue pajamas and apartment, which features many photographs which he had taken himself and are indicative of his main priority; his career. Jeff is also established as an intellectual and logical character, constantly overthinking situations that arise. The role of the logical character is often prescribed to males in films and Hitchcock did not straight from this norm. This is in contrast with the more emotional and common-sense point of view held by the women of the film; Lisa and Stella. He also exhibits a male cat characteristic of looking down at women. Jeff patronizes Stella when she offers her advice and vast life experience and instead of pursuing this knowledge he gets her to ‘make a sandwich.’ he also does the same towards Lisa's career, 'what dress was she wearing?’ Jeff views women as superficial objects through most of the film, which Hitchcock elucidates are incorrect assumptions, revealing the sexist mentality he's installed with. Hitchcock presents female characters as caregivers, ‘I'll slip into something more comfortable, ... the kitchen’ and all of his female characters are either married or it is their main priority, the male characters such as a composer and Mr Thorwald, instead, have careers which are significant to their characters. While, including gender roles, Hitchcock also contorts them. While Jeff takes on a passive role in the investigation, Lisa takes on an active one and goes to Mr Thorwald’s apartment, using her initiative. Finally, the relationship between Lisa and Jeff saw shifts not due to change on her part but a change in Jeff’s mentality towards women. Lisa did not need to relinquish her femininity in order for Jeff to view her in a different light.
