Sorry to go off topic, but our teacher said that we'll be finishing unit 4 during mid-September and I haven't really started on evolution yet myself. Is that something to worry about?
I'd hurry it up :p

Why is AoS 2 of Unit 4 so boring?
I second this!!

Not only is it slightly boring, I'm also performing much worse in it than Unit 3. Hopefully I can overcome this somehow and reach the finish line.

Are not both C and D applicable for the question? The correct answer is D :/

C is not applicable because that describes necrosis, not apoptosis. Apoptosis is programmed and does not cause an inflammatory reaction. :)

B: they kill cells, not interfere with the rate of mitosis.
C: Not necessarily, I think. Digestive enzymes could also be used in apoptosis.
D: well, yeah. They get rid of unnecessary cells...

Thanks guys!!
It cannot be C because during apoptosis, the cells do not 'burst' and the process is much more contained and controlled.

I've got a SAC in two weeks or so, and it's kind of a weird one. It's entitled "Analysis of first and second hand data relating to evolutionary relationships". Basically, we're given some newspaper articles and we have to "analyse them" in sort of a test format.

Anyone done anything similar? Advice?

Is 'artificial selection' just synonymous for 'selective breeding'?

do we need to know parallel and co-evolution?
