this is regarding T.S. Eliot and 'Journey of The Magi' and the use of Magi/Magus etc
I understand that Magi is plural, Magus is singular but when I say, for example 'the..... understanding', should I say 'the Magi's understanding' or 'the Magus'/Magus's understanding' (I want to refer to the group of Magi, but I thought it sounded a little weird saying 'the Magi understanding')
or would it just be better to phrase it like 'the understanding of the Magi'?

i believe that "the understnding of the Magi" sounds more formal (and flows better) than "the Magi's understanding", but sorry if that doesn't help i suck at giving advice :(
