Doing a survey for psych and would appreciate it if you guys should give it a go.

Hey man! Welcome to the forums!
Unfortunately, the link doesn't seem to work.
Once it does i encourage you to explore the forums more and post your survey in the section specifically designed for VCE psych here

My favourite extra-curricular is probably netball - which i will definitely continue and in-school is debating which i will also be doing in year 12 for next year too!
Yesssssss. Good! Keep doing them and don't stop. No matter how bad year 12 gets, it's important to maintain a good school/life balance using your extra curriculars. All the best for your final year!  :D

Hey akasha, welcome to the forums!

Don't worry, you're not the only one who has struggled to figure out how to do things, which is why there's this post.

That's a really interesting mix of subjects, is there a particular path you want to follow in the future?

(love your goal for who you want to be btw)

Note: pheonixxfire typed quicker than me but I'm still submitting so I can learn the answer to my questions and welcome you :)

Thanks! I actually have no idea what career path I'd like to pursue, I change my mind everyday. Its why I chose a broader range of subjects, I do like medicine (Its so interesting especially genetics) and I also like computers and technical stuff, I want to help people as well or go into psychology, and I love baking so that might be an option too! do you see my dilemma here?  ;D

Totally get you. I was exactly like that years back. Talking of genetics, I did my major in that, so feel free to talk to me about that via PM. :)

Hey! Welcome to the forums!
It's good to see someone else doing society and culture. I'd definitely encourage you  to check out our resources for it here and to ask all society and culture related questions here
Have you thought of a pip topic yet?
Love thissssss!!  ;D ;D

Thank you for the warm welcome!
I absolutely love society and culture, I didn't expect to but its definitely one of my favorite subject and the only class I don't dread going to. I have started brainstorming for my PIP,  I have way too many ideas and I haven't picked on yet. I will be going to 'PIP Day' in a couple of days so by then I expect to have a solid idea.
A few of the ones i did have are ;
- American Imperialism in the Middle East (or Western Imperialism in Pakistan)
- Nuclear bomb testing still happening in rural areas (and maybe how has nagasaki/hiroshima effected that)
- The real victims of 9/11 (increase of prejudice and who ultimately paid the price)
- Terrorism in Western vs Eastern countries (double standards/news outlets)
- Ethnic Cleansing (myanmar/bosnia)
- Representation of Pakistanis in western media (how they must adapt when living in western areas)
- Its assimilation if the east come to the west, yet oppression if the west live in the east.
- How has humor evolved (is it too pc? what role did social media play?does it need t be offensive to be funny)
- Interest of adolescents then vs now
- portrayal of women in modern adventure/ action films (marvel maybe)
- How media drives people into intense opinions
-Depiction of superheroes/ why they are still so relevant/important
- To what extent do TV shows portray real life and how can it affect others?
- The relationships between generations and the inevitable 'my generation was way better'
- Sexualisation of music videos vs before
- The different standards to which people of a particular race are held
- Why has you tube taken over TV as form of entertainment? How impressionable has you tubers become?
- The perpetuating notion of the 'Modern Muslim'
The list is super long (sorry!) and these are only some of the ones I've had. Any advise on how or which one I should choose? (sorry again for the long list!)

That is quite a large list!
My advice would be to look at the requirements of the pip and write basic plans based on the pip requirements (such as research methods, hypothesis, chapter focuses, etc) to see which ones have alot of different angles for you to explore and then pick the ones that make the most sense and include the most diversity while also being interesting.

Good luck!  ;D

Hi :)

Hey :)

Welcome to the forums!
If there's anything you're unsure on feel free to ask & we'll do our best to help you out

If you're interested, there's a list of questions at the start that you can fill out to provide a sort-of introduction. It'd be great if you copied and pasted that in so we could get to know you a little more :)

The [ b ]  and [ / b ] is just a way of bolding the questions so that they stand out more btw. If you copy and paste the text below you can just type your answers below each question.
Code: [Select]
1. What year level are you in right now, and what are your subjects? (Mandatory)

2. What movie do you most passionately hate? Provide justification. (Mandatory)

3. In the event of a zombie apocalypse, what would be your weapon of choice? (Mandatory).

4. Who do you want to be as a person, what do you want to achieve? (Optional)

5. If you had to summarise your life in a paragraph, what would you say? (Optional).

1. What year level are you in right now, and what are your subjects?
Year 11. I do all the maths (super fun), English and chem.

2. What movie do you most passionately hate? Provide justification.
Any horror movie. Tried to watch IT but only saw 2 seconds before getting too scared and resorted instead to watching Toy Story.

3. In the event of a zombie apocalypse, what would be your weapon of choice?
Definitely a flamethrower.

Welcome!

I have no idea how studying an Australian curriculum overseas works - do you have the same exam days etc?

What do you want to do after highschool?

Welcome!
I love maths too - are you doing specialist as well as general/further and methods?
What do you want to do after school? Maths & Chem sound like a pretty good combo!
I couldn't agree more on the horror movie comment... I HATE them! I watched IT until the clown comes out of a drain - never knew clowns could be so scary! 😮😏😫
Someone told me to grow up yesterday. I immediately banned that person from ever riding my unicorn!
Class of 2020 graduate... if I ever get there! :D

Yeah lol definitely not first post. Mostly a lurker here but still here goes:

1. What year level are you in right now, and what are your subjects?(Mandatory).
Just started Year 12 doing 4U English, 2U Maths, SOR I, Biology and Entertainment Industry (best course, change my mind)

2. What movie do you most passionately hate? Provide justification. (Mandatory).
Oh, I'm more of a gamer than a film buff so I'll just tell you a game I passionately hate: Street Fighter V. Used to love and play so much of it but the gameplay didn't allow for a lot of creativity compared to other fighting games which caused me to stagnate in skill. Wins and losses became less satisfying  and more frustrating respectively. Too many anti-consumer practices with DLC, the netcode is broken beyond belief. Really just a horrible, horrible stain on Capcom's otherwise great legacy.

3. In the event of a zombie apocalypse, what would be your weapon of choice? (Mandatory).
A gun. For myself of course. It's a zombie apocalypse, I'm not waiting to see the worst.

4. Who do you want to be as a person, what do you want to achieve? (Optional)
Really I just want to grow up to have a simple life with a balance for work, family and of course, video games. As long as my work allows for continual skill improvement and fulfillment, pay is secondary. There needs to be a balance of pleasure and pain otherwise life's boring.

5. If you had to summarise your life in a paragraph, what would you say? (Optional).
I like to mark out years of my life by the best games I've played:
2003: Super Mario 64
2006: New Super Mario Bros
2008: Elite Beat Agents
2011: Super Mario Galaxy
2013: Minecraft
2014: Persona 4 Golden
2015: Zelda Majora's Mask
2016: Super Smash Bros. 4
2017: Persona 5
2018: At the moment probably Undertale
