just wondering, from people who have bought them, are English notes worth buying? If they are, which one is better, ATAR Notes complete course notes or Connect Education English Notes? Thanks in advance!  ;D

Imo, no - they basically do all the work and thinking for you, and don't allow you to practice the analytical skills that ultimately matter. Get it if you're struggling, otherwise they're not necessary.

This sounds good to me!  :P

I bought the AN notes but have only flicked through haha (I have a SAC soon I should open it). For general notes like that I would say buy them if you feel like you need them. A thing to be wary of though is that if you're buying notes for your text, everyone else who buys those notes is interpreting the text in the same way - Obviously not what you want when you are trying to stand out in the exam.

I only dropped 4 marks on my English exam and still learned things after editing the ATAR Notes English Notes.

Nowadays, when I evaluate things, I ask myself, “would I give this to my kid?”

If I had a kid in Year 12 rn I’d buy it for them and make ‘em read it.

It's very difficult for others to take your opinion on board if you don't provide reasoning for it. It's far from productive. Essentially, it's a low-effort post dude.

What do you want me to say?

In my opinion they are not worth buying that's all I really have to say.

If people want further clarification they  can ask me  downvoting helps no one just means I'll post less.

I'll PM a response of this in order to avoid derailing the thread

We do value all opinions on ATAR Notes, however, so feel more than free to either modify your post to further explain your reasoning, that way we can all understand why they may not be useful :)

People are aware of this. People downvote content they want to see less of. If you don’t want to get downvoted, don’t post things that will get downvoted.

For me it's not worth buying because unlike other subjects where YouCam buy useful notes which can advice you on what key dot points you need to focus on as well as proper technique for answering a question.

English is a subject where all you have is a prompt and it's all up to you, I think that it's a subject where students would learn better from reading the text, writing up practice essays and seeing what feedback their teacher leaves them, constant practice and improvement.

Unlike other subejcts there's not really a trick to making English easier and students who buy notes on English may get complacent and not put in the required effort.

That's why I don't think that notes for English are particularly worth buying.
