Post by: amberberrie on October 28, 2017, 03:17:07 pm
hey!

just wondering what marks should be going into atar calculators to get an estimate of one's atar?? like would it be the raw exam mark or the aligned mark or is there no way to figure out what to put in?

amber :)

you put in your hsc mark which is the mark you receive after it has been aligned and moderated. Essentially, aligned is probably going to be more accurate than raw- but it could be off as hsc mark is largely dependent on internal marks and ranks and how your cohort does.

This guide explains how your HSC marks are calculated, it might give you a rough idea of what your HSC marks are likely to be for each subject. As said above though, ATAR calculators are inaccurate to begin with, and it's virtually impossible to guess your HSC marks before you get them ;D
