Adaptations and Transformations SAC

I'm doing my adaptations and transformations SAC on "Speaking in Tongues" by Andrew Bovell and "Lantana" directed by Ray Lawrence and I'm kind of lost on where the meaning is changed between the two texts, and my teacher isn't really pointing anything out. All I've got at the moment is that the play develops the interconnectedness between people more efficiently, but I can't really think of anything else.
Any help is appreciated!  :)

If I'm correct, this is a play to film adaptation?

In that case, while I haven't read the play nor seen the film, one major focus of this SAC is seeing how the idiosyncrasies of each medium (novel, film, play) impact the creation of meaning (which is what Lit investigates). While you can focus on plot to gain some meaning, it's more important to focus on these differences between mediums. The speciality of film is that the camera is able to completely focus the audience's attention. Analyse the perspective of the shot, the ambiance and lighting(mood), the breadth (zoom), sound (e.g lightning for pathetic fallacy of anger), and link this to the mood or how certain relationships are portrayed, amongst other possible ideas. For a play, certain stage directions might introduce new meanings, and the set may be symbolic in some way (e.g alcohol cabinet for insular, internal, psychological troubles).

Hope this helps! Personally I did Cat on a Hot Tin Roof for my Adaptations SAC. The skills you learn from the SAC do help with the understanding of medium, which you must demonstrate in both essays in the exam. Eg: If you are writing about a novel, narrative perspective should be analysed, if a play, the nature of performance or the set, etc.
