Hey everyone on AN, I’m hoping to take some advices as if I should do Chinese sla unit 1&2 next year at xjs or if it’s better for me to do the vce preparation class first and then do it at 2021
I’m currently studying at year eight this year and I kind of want to finish the Chinese sla in year ten so then I can focus more on science&math subjects in year 11/12 as I consider myself now as a STEM kid. I’m doing pretty okay with my school grades and I have a lot spare time which I used to study science. I came here after I finished year 4 in China in a really competitive school, and my grades for Chinese is pretty well in my cohort at that time(once I got a second or first prize in 奥语, which is like the top 10% in my city); and I guess I used to have a strong Chinese writing skill as I start writing a lot creative books since I was 5 years old(I stopped since I came here), and I used Chinese to write dairy everyday until I stopped in April this year(I wrote for like around 3 years and more).
I’m not sure if I fit the ability of doing Chinese sla unit 1&2 next year as I don’t go to Chinese school but however, I will work extremely hard if I’m doing it and my aim is to achieve a raw 40+(Not very optimistic about this haha); and if it’s not possible for me to achieve that score in year 10, then I would probably repeat the 3&4 and finish it in year eleven(if I’m doing okay)

I suggest you doing SLA in year 10, coz in case you are not satisfied with the final score you can repeat it in year 11 :)

I submitted the form of applying the enhancement class for unit 1/2 next year at xjs, and just wondering if you have an idea, how many hours of after-school studying do ppl have to put every week in order to achieve a raw 40+?

For unit 3&4, you need to work at least 1-2 hours per day. But I think studying unit 1&2 is meaningless in SLA.
