AFL Rule Changes - 2019

AFL Commission has approved nine rule changes that will take effect from the 2019 season:

My Thoughts:
I think the most interesting ones are the rules that effectively try to promote attack:
* once a behind is signalled, the player doesn't have to kick to themselves and can simply handball etc. to commence play.
* the player can play on at any point during the 50m penalty (even before the run to the point is finalised)

Runners/water carriers aren't allowed on at all during live play. Very happy with this one - will stop them getting in the way, often unintentionally.

The 6-6-6 rule really interests me - it means that you have those FF/FB players all the way down in the goal square. Once the ball is bounced in the centre, it's going to take them a while to get from there to whereever the ball is. Also provides an opportunity for a player to be available for a mark.
