I just looked it up and I wasn't too bad. I always think I'm going to be the first person to throw up in a dissection or turn squeamish at something disgusting like that but I never seem to do so immediately. :S

what are cals? and

in subjects with scheduled cal sessions, can you complete the cals outside of the classroom in your own time? im thinking about taking fundamentals of cell biology where cals are an important learning tool for the exam, and i'd hate to only have 1 go lest i need to revise something come swotvac..

how important is it to put subjects in their right place in the study plan?

i'm in an awkward position where I should move a subject to another category --- 'Science and Breadth', but I'm afraid that if I unenroll and re-enroll I will lose a place in a quota subject, which the subject to be moved partially fulfills the pre-requisites for.

Your student centre can generally shift it around for you if need be, but it's easier to get it right in the first place.

MelonBar I would visit the student centre; they will move the subject for you without risk of you being unenrolled from the quota subject.

Hey guys, I just had a suggestion for one of you university veterans to take up. Timetabling has shown to be a rather difficult process for a lot of jaffies and while the university itself does help with a video tutorial on how to register for classes, there's obviously a lot of extra tips and tricks that they simply don't cover. Many of these are probably well-known by you students and some of these have been coming out in dribs and drabs over many threads on the forums (thank you to all those who have done this in some way over the past few days). However, I think many of us would really appreciate it if perhaps someone collated a 'Tips and tricks to UoM timetabling' thread just to help us all out. Thanks. :)
