Charmanderp, thank you for apologising but you didn't really do anything wrong! I was just voicing my feelings on the matter I suppose.  It just came across as slightly condescending (and has done on a couple of other non-maths discussion related occasions) but it's totally okay, I know you're just trying to moderate.  I guess this thread has always seemed more casual to me - to the extent that I really feel it doesn't need much intervention unless someone starts spamming or something.

If I was being condescending I do need to apologise. That was definitely not my intention and now I'm regretful that I did so. I guess I wasn't even trying to moderate - just offering advice/feedback on an alternative way for the thread to operate based on my observations, but obviously my view on how it should run doesn't speak for everyone and that's perfectly fair. As long as it doesn't become excessive casual, non-uni related chat is probably warranted. As a general user of this forum (not as a moderator) I guess I'd prefer if it didn't happen here but that might be a bit short-sighted of me.

Okay so I've put in like three overload requests over the last week or so and nothing has happened. I haven't even received a reason as to why they haven't been approved yet. What do I do? I have sufficient grades to be allowed to overload, so I'm not sure what's going on...

I emailed the SSC and they got back to me within the hour (last semester). I suggest you either call them up on Monday, or head into university so that can do it manually.

haha ikr. it even let me enroll in 6 subjects in one semester without applying to overload, but when i tried to add 7 i got an error XD
