Agree with above, if you try and just memorise a great essay and don't have your head around why it is great so you can actually respond on the day, you'll get bitten!
You should definitely do
something to improve in English. It doesn't have to be expensive though. Some ideas:
- Use ATAR Notes (free, duh!)
- Do a couple of tutoring sessions, doesn't have to be a weekly thing, just do half a dozen spaced through the year to help you!
- Get a mate who's decent at English to lend a hand (it helps them too)
- Ask for some extra assistance from your teacher
- Use YouTube videos and other online resources
- Use ATAR Notes (again, free, duh
)
I totally get not wanting to spend copious amounts of money, but you definitely don't have to do that to improve. Tutoring is just one tool that is out there (but it is a really good tool when you find an arrangement that suits you)
