Feeling puzzled? Stuck on a puzzle? Here's the place to talk about it!

Personally I love doing sudoku puzzles and wordsearches, as well as jigsaw puzzles! However, I can't ever manage to finish a crossword- eek! :-[ (Will be forever grateful to the person that gives me tips on how to finish a crossword :D )

Some ideas for discussion (because I don't actually know how to start this):
- What are your favourite puzzle-related things to do?
- Are you a jigsaw puzzle fan?
- Do you have some fantastic way to solve a sudoku?
- Is there a type of puzzle we should try at least once in our lives?

WASGIJ!
It's just a jigsaw puzzle, but you don't have the picture to go off. Instead, you are given a scene right after/before the actual scene in the Jigsaw... It's awesome! :D

Oh, yeah. And Sudoku... that's great.

I recommend custom puzzles - cool gift idea, have done in the past. Maybe we should have an ATAR Notes custom puzzle: 10,000 pieces based on a screenshot of this precise thread lol.

I got back into jigsaws big time last year. I think 1000 pieces is the magic number in terms of not too short and not too long.

Currently I'm working on a jigsaw of the 12 Apostles that I got for Christmas and only started a few days ago. Reckon I'm gonna hit up a few op shops sometime soon to get some new ones I can work through :)

How did  just notice this thread.  :P
Sorry for bumping it.  :-\

I LOVE jigsaw puzzles. I find them such a good way to one procrastinate and two as a form of mindfullness.

I love it when I get time to just sit at my desk, leave my phone in another room and just sit and work on a jigsaw puzzles for hours.
I don't pay any attention to the time and many times I have sat doing jigsaw puzzles till 3 or 4 am in the morning.

I don't know what it is about them but they are just so relaxing to just sit and and go through a bunch of trial and error to eventually put the puzzle together and marvel at your creation.
For some reason they never frustrate me even though puzzles seem to frustrate alot of people.

I haven't done anything bigger than a 1000 piece but are keen to try a bigger one at some point.

Currently I am working on a 500 piece round Harry Potter themed puzzle.
I am actually finding it trickier to do than a normal puzzle and the curved pieces are really messing around with me. It is a very dark puzzle as well, which doesn't help.
Has anyone else done a round puzzle before?
Any tips?
