Practice Prompts

Hey everyone,

Does anybody have some useful articles for analysing argument? I struggle to find ones with good analysis.

Also the texts I am studying this year are:
-Women of Troy
-7 Stages of Grieving vs The Longest Memory

Does anybody have some practice prompts I could use for extra practice?

Thanks :)

Hi Alannah!

There's a collection of prompts for that text + pair here. As for Analysing Argument, you can look through news sites like The Age and The Herald Sun if you're preparing for your SAC (as your school will likely take material from these kinds of sources). The opinion section, letters to the editor, and cartoons are your best bet (as opposed to general reporting). The exam task for AA is quite different though, so going through past VCAA exams will give you the best sense of what to expect there. The study design has changed, but all of those articles going back to 2008 are still good practice tasks.

Hope that helps!

Hi! I've got a list of articles here on our FB page (https://www.facebook.com/notes/tse-tuition/articles-for-argument-analysis/1650380138335905/) with background information. Unfortunately they're just single articles (not pairs) but you can probably scroll down to the comment section of the articles and choose a juicy one for comparison practice ;) You can also check out our socials (see signature) for more free materials and videos.

Make sure you give yourself a break over the summer too :)
