Drop subject?

Hi,

I was wondering if it would be possible to drop a subject during semester 2 and go into a study period instead, are there any rules that would prevent me from doing so, my teacher told me I have to have 6 subjects in year 11 but I'm not sure if that's true.

Subjects I'm doing currently:
- Economics
- Business Management
- English
- Accounting
- Computing
- Further

Well according to VCAA you don't need to have x or y amount of subjects per year, as long as you meet the overall VCE guidelines set by VCAA.

Unfortunately though as you're in Year 11 policy and procedure in the most part is delegated to schools so I think this is a conversation worth having with your VCE coordinator (or equivalent) as the response to your question will vary depending on school.

I did this exact thing. My school initially was quite against it but I presented a case to them outlining the benefits, and they agreed. Perhaps you could do similarly?
