Statement of Marks/Study Score Thread
« on: December 19, 2016, 01:32:33 pm »
Hi guys, below is the statement of study score data for my subjects, I know a lot of people are interested in these so feel free to post yours.

English Language
GA 1: 96/100 raw -> 81    A
GA 2: 96/100 raw -> 85    A
GA 3: 112/150                  B+
SS: 37

Maths Methods
GA 1: 97/100 raw -> 97    A+
GA 2: 70/80                      A+  ...Wow, the A+ cut-off for exam 1 must have been quite low this year.
GA 3: 139/160                  A+
SS: 42

Physics
GA 1: 67/70 raw -> 67    A+
GA 2: 93/100 raw -> 95  A+
GA 3: 272/300                A+
SS: 42

Chemistry
GA 1: 94/100 raw -> 99    A+
GA 2: 97/100 raw -> 99    A+
GA 3: 213/240                  A+  Bought statement of marks for this, A+ cut-off was 198, exam must have harder this year as it was 210 last year.
SS: 45

Specialist Maths
GA 1: 80/100 raw -> 96    A+
GA 2: 75/80                      A+
GA 3: 144/160                  A+
SS: 41

Kind of annoys that I did better in both spesh exams than methods and got a lower SS - assume this is because of the greater competition in spesh?
Surprised with methods exam 1, usually A+ is around 74/80 - good for me though since I screwed that one up. Didn't expect the A+ cut-off for chem to drop that much either.

2015 - 2016: IT Applications [44] | Religion & Society [40] | English Language [37] | Maths Methods [42]  | Physics [42]  | Chemistry [45] | Specialist Maths [41]
ATAR: 99.10
2017 - 2020: BSci Adv Research (Applied & Pure Mathematics) (Honours) @ Monash

Methods exam was definitely a lot harder than previous years if 70/80 nets you an A+.
Guess it comes to show that hard exam =/= better scaling

Specialist exam on the other hand was just a tad easier than previous years (95 + 76 + 146 last year was 43-ish).
And yes, definitely because of the greater competition in Spesh.
