Hello. :)

I completed Business Management in 2011 with a study score of 48. If you're studying BusMan next year (or plan to at some point in the future) and are confused about any of the content, feel free to ask questions here. So if you fancy getting a head-start for BusMan 2017, this is the place! ;D
whats the rerlationship between managing employees and business objectives

hey,
i am in year 11 doing 3/4 vie busman, i am struggling to understand strategies to use to develop positive corporate culture. would be great if someone can help me!

Hey, manutd! :D

Corporate culture is really important within a business - it essentially dictates employee relationships, what's valued within the organisation, and how the business operates more generally. Having a positive corporate culture generally leads to increased productivity (effectiveness and efficiency), as employees are more motivated. Strategies tend to be pretty general - if you're struggling to think of them, just think about it in regard to a case study (do you work part time or anything?). Basically, what are the things that your employer (or any employer) could implement to foster positive corporate culture?

These things could include:
- Formal policies ("formal" or "official" corporate culture)
- Celebrations (like, acknowledging birthdays and the like)
- Valuing of certain viewpoints (such as implementing energy-efficient appliances throughout the business)
- Management structure (a flatter hierarchy is likely very different to a more vertical one)
- Rituals (a weekly morning tea or after-work drinks etc.)
- Rewarding employees who symbolise the desired corporate culture
- Acknowledging employees as important assets to the business
- Communication channels (one-way v. two-way)
- Flexibility for employees/staff
- And even things like dress code

I'm sure there are like a million more potential strategies that could be used by management. Does that answer your question? :)

Another good question! :D I'm going to leave this one with you for now - what are your thoughts?

How would managing employees effectively or poorly impact business objectives? Remember, business objectives are:
- Make a profit
- Increase market share
- Fulfil a market and/or social need
- Meet shareholder expectations

Hey, Adriana! :) So the management styles are:
- Autocratic
- Persuasive
- Consultative
- Participative
- Laissez-faire

And as you may know, each of these has different characteristics, strengths and weaknesses. Intuitively, which one of these would you choose to answer the question you posted? :) I honestly think you could justify any of them, but perhaps you could have a go first, and we can go from there. ;D
