Are Units 1 and 2 examinable for the exam?

Not having done units 1 and 2, is it worth trying to learn a years worth of content?

Nope. None of it is examinable. It does help to understand the basic concepts that you cover in 1/2 though as it's relevant to what you learn in 3/4. Definitely no need to learn the entire year of content though.
