12/5/21
I've now decided to start a VCE journal to better keep track of my habits and my education journey, rather than only my personal growth. A friend of mine told me I should start one near the start of the year but I haven't found the motivation to do so until now.
It was because of the continued 'fails' I've experienced as of late in school, and I figured it'd be healthy to recognise what I'm doing wrong.
2019/Year 10 - Started Units 1/2 Biology. Earned a High Achiever award.
2020/Year 11 - Finished Units 3/4 Biology with a 35 Study Score. Started 1/2 Psychology, Methods, Specialist, Chemistry and English. Earned a High Achiever award.
> My initial goal was at least 40 for Bio, but I fell short due to my own lack of perseverance and laziness. Even though part of the fault can be blamed on the difficult circumstances, it is not enough of an excuse to blame my whole study score on it. I am to learn from this mistake.
> I was averaging 90's for Methods and Chemistry, mid 80's for Psychology, English and low 80's for Specialist. I did not prepare enough for my exams and ended up with 60's for Methods and Specialist, 30's for Chemistry and 80's for Psychology and English.
2021/Year 12 - Current.
> Currently aiming to study between 2-3 hours a night and 10 on the weekend.
As of now, I am falling short of that goal some nights due to a need for mental rest. I've realised I'm quick to become exhausted from overworking myself, especially as my hobbies of editing and gaming are also active activities.
Realistically I'm doing about 2 hours a night and 7 on the weekend.
With a rough end to 2020 and rough start to 2021, I've started to pick up the pace a little, bringing my initial 30% scores up to an 88% most recently. What actually prompted me to start this was a panic during today's Chemistry SAC which I thought would've been easy but I'm 90% sure I failed.
End of year goals
> 40+ Scaled Study Scores all around for an ATAR around 95.
I'm looking to update this bi-weekly.
