Okay so if i get late 80's in general maths, can that round off to a band 6??

It really depends on the results of the rest of the cohort. It can fluctuate slightly. If everyone does really really well, then they may up the cutoff to say 91. But if not many people do very well then they may lower it to something like an 88. Meaning a hsc mark of 88/100 would actually score a band 6.

So it is possible, yes.
