Does anyone have the Year 11 Maths Quest (Units 1+2)?

Unsure on your meaning. Do you mean Maths Quest is piss-easy and Essentials is harder? MHS uses Maths-Quest...which I shall be using next year.

Unsure on your meaning. Do you mean Maths Quest is piss-easy and Essentials is harder? MHS uses Maths-Quest...which I shall be using next year.

maths quest is piss-easy, essentials is by far superior (borrow from library and copy from CD...)

i have compared both books -
essential is a better book as a whole. better structure, more concise examples etc.
but i think math quest has harder questions and chapter reviews (now that it's been updated)

my math teacher wrote the 2nd edition of math quest  :)

MQ does not have harder questions... My school used the new edition of MQ this year yet teachers were continuously supplementing from the essentials book.

oh that ish weird. i know that my sister used essentials for methods and the school kept photocopying sheets from math quest and she found that chapter review harder than essentials. but ionno  :o

The multiple choice and short answer in Essential chapter review are ridiculously easy... much easier than the questions throughout the chapter.

Seconded, but the chapter questions are much harder than that of maths quest

The year 11 book doesn't even contain matrices..

really, we used to do a yr 9 book with matrices (Maths for Vic 9)... matrices are easy stuff anyway, mostly CAS work
