Anyways, I digress-
Has anyone found volunteer/work experience places in terms of mental health or veterinary ? I'm kinda interested to maybe start doing it over the holidays or something haha

What locations (eg Western suburbs of Melbourne) do you want to volunteer at? And would volunteering at an animal shelter or fundraising for something like Headspace be okay? Also, are you 16+ or 18+ years old? (This can affect where you can volunteer at.)

I’m thinking of probably eastern/sourthern suburbs or south-east ish maybe?

Maybe something that isn’t fundraising would be more beneficial in terms of experiences? Etc like walking a dog or talking to people I reckon

I’m going to assume you’re Victorian? (AN is a hub for many Victorians and New South Welsh, so wanted to be completely sure.)

Anyway, here’s a short but non-exhaustive list:
Animal Services
- Lost Dogs’ Home (Cranbourne West)
- RSPCA (Burwood East)
- AAPS (Dandenong Sth)
- Save a Dog Scheme (Glen Iris)

Mental Health Services
- Headspace (specifically looking at Elsternwick and Bentleigh right now)
- Wellways (South Eastern Melbourne)

Other Helpful Sites
- Go Volunteer (basically filter to things you want)
- this Youth Central website has a bunch of general volunteering opportunities if you’re not picky

These are all things I found in about 5 mins, so feel free to keep researching or try these, as you wish. Let us know how you go.
