Here it is guys.
I originally lost the first version so I had to recreate half of this from scratch today. Pretty tired so if you see any mistakes let me know.
I will try and have the results up tomorrow but it's my 18th so anything could happen. :)
And most of all good luck!
Edited for the bolding on the Allan will curse you part.
-
My name is Bob and I endorse this trial exam!

excellent work :)
-
My name is not Bob, but I also endorse this trial exam.
-
I endorse the endorsements of this trial exam (and therefore also endorse the trial exam itself).

I'm a creep and I endorse Yakult

My MCQ - number 4 - has been typed incorrectly.
It should read...in contrast the dimensional APPROACH has ______ axes.

is the answer a? rofl or is that a typo o.0
-
Which Q? 2 or 4? q's1-5 are mine.
-
umm 2
-
SPOILER ALERT
It is not A. It is B. There is no such thing as 'visual exposure' --> that describes C.

Could you please give us the solutions. The exam is just 5 days away.
-
Sorry guys tomorrow afternoon. I've been piled up so much lately. Argh hate English. >.<
-
I can only provide the first 5 MCQ as they are mine :P
1. B It is not D as long-lasting isn't the term used in the definition. The more correct answer is [relatively permanent]
2. B Graduated exposure can occur through visual exposure but this is technically called [imaginal exposure]
NOTE - the Q was typed incorrectly. It should have been which of the following is INCORRECT?
3. D Pure fact
4. D Pure fact
5. B Although C is true it's not part of the definition and isn't the "BEST" definition.
-
Hi could we have the solutions please? :) the exam's in 3 days...

Are you giving solutions for the non-multiple choice parts of the exam, Camo? (or still in the process of typing them up and what not?)
-
1. The four stages are:
Preparation: examination of the problem and gathering information. (1 mark).
Incubation: contemplating information gained in preparation stage. (1 mark).
Insight or Aha Experience: realisation of the problem. (1 mark).
Verification: solution is acted upon to confirm. (1 mark).
2. Allostatis is the process of maintaining stability through change in the face of stressors. (1 mark).
3. Classical is towards a stimulus (1 mark) where Operant is towards a behaviour (1 mark).
4. Explanation of how behaviours are shaped (1 mark) relevant to an example (1 mark).
5. Categorical definition (1 mark), dimensional definition (1 mark) and reasoning to why we use categorical over dimensional (1 mark).
6. Parental Modelling (1 mark), transmission of threat information (1 mark) and link to phobias (1 mark).
7. Explanation of what p-values show in psychology (1 mark) and identifying that the outcome of the experiment in that case would in the likelihood of chance be 5% (1 mark).
8. Three principles:
Identify psychological harm, consent and voluntary participation.
(1 mark for each).
Link with to what occurred in the experiment.
(1 mark).

Example (1 mark).
10. In reverence to your choice.
2 marks for theories and 2 marks for exploration of theories.
2 for linking back to your area.

thanks camo! :)

Could you please explain the answer for question 6 - How can phobias be transmitted within families? For the transmission of threat part? And can a dysfunctional GABA system be a correct answer as well?
-
Mc 9 isn't A is it? Fixed interval isn't a specific number of responses it's a specific time period in which the desired behaviour was performed?

Yeah, I thought so too.
And man, I scored horribly on this exam :S
I'M SCREWED

Hey, I must say, I don't do psych, but brilliant work on the exam Camo! :D

Guys, we need to discuss with Dan, but having a section of the website on home made (I only use that as an alternative to say ATAR note exams) that could be easily accessed on the site.
-
Home made exams? LOL reminds me of home-made icecream for some reason haha

Sorry my bad, its C.

Really the question is within families, but it is genetics, but I'd say go its more the other two.
-

There's probably a psychology theory for it (Camo?)
Something to do with that the term "home made exams" reminds you of home-made icecream - an item that is familiar. This effectively calms people that are about to do a 'home made exam' and causes them to do better on it. This in turn, makes people more happier and approving of the exams.
(or is making up random stuff like that come under psuedoscience and have no real basis?)
ATAR Notes Trial Exams sounds more fancier though. Though I think I prefer the funny names like "Puffy" and "Thelson".
-
When Thushan was 5 his parents would give him an ice-cream every time he completed a methods exam. Repeated association means that he now associated methods exams with the reward of ice-cream.
Boom.
-
LOL. Nice theory except...
I could barely even add when I was 5. Let alone doing a methods exam!

Always the modest kid, Thushan? :P

Laseredd I know there is I'm just having the wrong retrieval cues at the moment, but does it sound like a good idea?

It sounds like a sound idea to me. A page for all these exams in one place would be handy. I think he has a few ideas about ATAR Notes trial exams, I wouldn't be surprised if he's already trying to get a system for it underway.
Step 4) of ATARNotes expansion: ATARNotes Trial Exams! A CALL FOR WRITERS - he mentions an e-store there - that would probably be a separate page (talks about they sell one set and the other set is free).
I think there was another thread about trial exams somewhere as well (from memory Taiga created it)
edit - here: ATARnotes VCE Trial Examinations
-
doubt that there would be two let alone one MC question asking for the name of the experimenters
e.g. Q3 Hans Selye
Q6 Pavlov.
It would be good though
-
and what the hell is the 'Limbic System'?

So if I think of the VCAA exam as a homemade exam that the exam writers have put love and care into, I feel calmer going into the exam and there for increase my marks because I'll be happier and approving of the exam therefore making me realise it isn't that hard and answering every question flawlessly? This is my new plan ;D

Perhaps, might want to confirm my theory with something who actually knows a thing or two about psychology though.
Maybe you can be the guinea-pig for the experiment :P
Don't forget about the reward of ice-cream as well. It seems like that worked for Thushan.

Its a lovely, beautiful feeling. Otherwise I would've got Ninwa to do it. ;)

I don't see why you would sticky a thread like this, I mean it is only a single exam
IMO you should make a new thread called exam revision material or something, and have this there, as well as the tutor on demand thing

I stickied it as sort of a reference point (I will make more exams for next year), just that we cant go sticking copy-righted material due to new rules in regards to it on the forums. I may eventually made a new stickied thread with the tutor on demand material and much others sometimes in the holidays and before the next year.
However as much as I understand it Tutor on Demand will become a commercial company in the future so I will have to get to a point where this information may be removed as it may breach copyright.

Did that for Legal Studies, but only after the real exam as I am now bored as hell!
