If the timetable allows is it a good idea taking friday off? Or is that the day most people socialise after uni etc.

Friday's dead quiet on campus usually. Although sometimes there are events on Fridays, like the end-of-semester Kegs'n'Sun.

And as a general rule, a good strategy with timetabling is to maximise the amount of days off you have :)
The Finnish word pilkunnussija, which translates literally to “comma fucker,” is someone who risks his social wellbeing to annoyingly and persistently point out punctuation errors.

Yeah great idea because most uni events are actually on a Thursday night (cheaper hire, not many >23s at clubs, etc)

Hey i'm confused because another poster said this:

What's a better day to have off?

Tuesday or Thursday?

Both.

+1 for this. Had thursdays off first semester last year and both last semester. Both definitely better  ;D

Okay I'll try and be a little more specific.

What's a better day to have off?

Tuesday OR Thursday?

The reason I'm asking is because I don't want to miss out on things on days I wouldn't be at Uni.

I thought the Student Union has BBQs every Tuesday so I wouldn't want to miss those right?
Take thursdays off if you want free stuff and all the clubs/societies meetings and gatherings cos they're always on tuesdays...
:D :) ;D :D :) ;D :D :) ;D :D :) ;D :D :) ;D :D :) ;D

Also, the major balls and cruises are mostly on Wednesday, making Thursdays very desirable to have off.
