what should i pick up for year 12???!! help pls desperate

(1/1)

helpmepls112:
so im currently in year 11 and these are the subjects im doing right now:
Methods (completing this year)
biology (completing this year)
specialists
chemistry
english
physics

im thinking of dropping physics because im really hating it and cant keep up with the workload from all my subjects. i want a subject thats not too hard, and doesnt have too much a workload and is also interesting. So right now im thinking of possibly picking up Legal studies, business, further or health and human! Is legal really hard, because i heard that from a few people and im just really confused on what to pick! please help... thanks!
And im really hating bio so maybe a subjects that doesnt have too much memorising!

Given you're doing methods and specialist you could easily do further but i think you will find it incredibly boring. Legal does have lots of content. I don't know anything about business but HHD is generally regarded as fairly easy and the background knowledge from biology would probably help.

Hey there. I'm currently doing Legal 1/2 and have friends doing Legal 3/4. It's quite an interesting subject to pick, if you are interested in the area at all. However, there is quite a lot of content and you'd need to be able to read and critically think.
Another option you could consider is Psych 3/4, which I'm doing this year. It's really fun to learn and you can apply principles you learn into your every day life (to an extent). Have a look at the study design for the subjects you're considering and see which one interests you the most.

i do legal 3/4 and health 3/4 and both require memorising, as does business. (not commenting on further because what even are numbers tbh.) but the health study design is changing next year and cutting a LOT of definitions out, so there seems to be a lot less strict memorisation. that means if you're good at application questions, health would be great for you – there will always be things you have to memorise but often you can repeat things you learn at the start of the course right through the rest of it. and common sense is a life saver, so if you can logically work through a situation (ie: no healthcare access = no treatment for illness = increased death rate) then you'll probably do well in health. legal basically requires you to memorise things and then be able to talk about them at length, with the right structure and sometimes a link to a case. there are definitely elements of logic in it too, but as far as i've found, you can't rely on that to the same extent as you can in health. (although if you want 40s you're probably not aiming to chance your marks on luck anyway, so.) the legal study design is changing next year as well though, so just because people have said it's hard this year doesn't mean it will be next year (: so personally i'd say health, but pick whatever you're most interested in tbh, because you're more likely to put work into it if you like it!

I agree with forbiddensoulxx, i'm doing psych 3/4 this year and i really enjoy it. Although there is a lot of content, i personally find it quite straight forward to study for as i can link a lot of the concepts and theory to situations have occurred in my life or to people that i know. I would probably consider it to be my most 'laid-back' subject! Definitely take a look at the study design and see if it's something you might be interested in!
