Also just a few weeks ago I was parked on the side of a freeway. I had to get from 0 to 110km/h and change lanes twice (while accelerating) and try to not get hit by cars also going at 110km/h.

=) =)

That is definitely a skill that you can develop. Once you've driven for a while you can change lines, just like that !

It was strange though, like she stopped, then ran across a good 10-20 seconds later.

I don't even want to talk about the times my sister (learner) has almost changed lanes into another car.

Sometimes people are impatient and preemptively "predict' when the lights go green. It's definitely good to have awareness and check the surroundings =)

This is why you sometimes see people slowly creep closer to the traffic lights =)

This literally happened on the day of the O-week meetup. I nearly ran through a red light.

Scariest thing ever, especially since there were AN users in my car at the time.

I've had to deal with so many morons I don't even bother driving anymore.

Hopefully by the time I have a family Drivelress cars are a thing or I'll have to drive like it or not.

All I'm going to say is if the speed limit says 60 go 60... seriously!

While driving on the freeway to Sydney, my dad kept encouraging me to go above the speed limit. "The 3km/h leeway is there for a reason, go 113km/h".

Also while driving up to Sydney, I almost had a crash. I was going around 110 and we were turning into this small town but it had a very sharp turn at the exit and I was used to going too fast, I didn't slow down enough and went over the dividing line, almost crashing into another car. It was quite embarrassing having to get out of the driver's seat and let my dad get us un-stuck. It was a scary experience but we were quite lucky no one was injured, and it taught me a valuable lesson, that when going high speeds it can be very easy to underestimate how fast you're going so slow down early.

close shave on ps: rbt pulled everyone over in front of me and let me pass...i was wearing wrong p plates and didnt know where me licence was
ist time pulled over by police on p's: dw only rbt!!! ;D

Never seen so many police cars around the 11PM-12AM range. Damn, they really wanna catch people out during the double demerit point days.

(Not really scary because I was driving really cautiously as well but so what)

I don't know, knowing that the police are on the roads and able to catch bad drivers is comforting when you're driving. After all, when you're driving, you're in control of a death machine made of metal and could not only kill or hurt yourself, but others too.

And on that note, police don't catch innocent drivers, they catch the ones who happen to break the law, whether that be a minor offence (speeding, drag-racing, etc.) or major (culpable driving, driving UTI, etc... definitely not 'innocent' drivers). It acts as a preventative measure. This keeps our roads safe as possible and enforces the law. I think it's a good thing the cops are up and about on our roads, especially in the most dangerous times of year - public holidays (where people get drunk and stupid). :)
