Hello, could someone help me how to answer this:

10.5 grams of Ba(NO3)2 will dissolve into 100 grams of water to make a saturated solution at 25 Cº. Calculate the Ksp of Ba(NO3)2 at 25Cº.

The answer to this question is 2.59 x 10^-1

I thought you were talking about the Kerbal Space Program, and ask people to calculate how much delta-v to get to get to other planets...
Upward and outward, no matter the cost.

Hey there!

The equation for this reaction is Ba(NO3)2(s) ⇌ Ba2+(aq) + 2NO3-(aq). This indicates that Ksp = [Ba2+][NO3-]2, and since these concentrations are equal at equilibrium, Ksp can be expressed in terms of the solubility s by Ksp=4s3. Now, the solubility is given by c = n/V, or m / (MM*V), which is just 10.5/(261.337*0.1). Sub this into the above expression and you should get the Ksp value for barium nitrate.

Hope this helps :)
