Biomed at Monash or UniMelb before MD?

I am in Y12, deciding between Biomedicine @ Melb Uni & Monash.

My goal is to complete Biomed & do MD

I have not done UCAT

I have heard MD at Melbourne doesn't qualify you to have highly successful work in future.
I have also heard different pathways from Biomed to MD.

For each uni what are entry requirements to MD & how hard is it?

Which MD course qualifies you better?
Which biomed course is more useful?

Should I do Monash Biomed then Monash MD? Can I try to get into MD at both places from Monash Biomed?

How about Biomed at Monash or Melb then advancing to MD @ Uni of Western Aus?

Mod edit: split post from old topic and created new thread

Would suggest you look at this guide for more information: https://atarnotes.com/forum/index.php?topic=135433.0

The university you study medicine at doesn't matter for future career opportunities after you graduate.

Entry requirements for each university are listed on each course page - for graduate entry medicine, you generally need a degree in any discipline, GAMSAT, and an interview if you're shortlisted. University of Melbourne used to have prerequisite subjects but this is being removed from 2022.

Monash Graduate Entry MD only takes students who have a Monash degree in Biomed, Science, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy. There are some pathways where students who do a particular degree are preferenced - for example, ANU and Griffith among other universities have some options.

Are there a certain number of allocated spaces in Melb MD for Melb Biomed students?
Roughly what's the success rates of Biomed --> MD @ Melb via GAMSAT?
I've heard GAMSAT is incredibly hard

No not specifically (unless students have the guarantee + pass the MMI from 99.90+)

Have heard it used to be about 1/3 although that was the "peak" when you need an ATAR of 99+ to get into Biomed. Now it would be a smaller proportion.

You can definitely study for it to improve but a proportion of one's score would depend on learning throughout their whole life (especially in section 1)
