Do you genuinely enjoy the subjects you are studying, or, are you just doing it for the money?

a bit of both, i love the subjects i do, finance combined with maths, can't get any better. however i'm also doing it because it yields higher returns than the careers that I was thinking of pursuing back in year 12.
PhD @ MIT (Economics).

Interested in asset pricing, econometrics, and social choice theory.

Love Finance and Economics, hence I'm doing Commerce at uni. The prospect of higher earnings didn't really influence my decision.

The only way to make money

... is with money
It's really not that hard to quantify..., but I believe that being raped once is not as bad as being raped five times, even if the one rape was by a gang of people.

It was either commerce or science. I wasn't any good at science. Therefore, I choose commerce.

Got into it initially for the actuarial profession (not only the money associated with the job but the general less stress, stability, etc.) still doing it now for completely different reasons, really enjoy the subjects and some of the other jobs that are available as a result of the degree, and don't intend to peruse a career in actuarial at all. It could have blown up in my face if i didn't like it as i never have done commerce subs before, but it all worked out and i couldn't be happier, couldn't fathom doing something else.

Also at the time of choosing course i just didn't have anything else that even vaguely appealed to me.
