Hey guys I heard that specialist math is extremely hard and only the strongest math minds can do it.
Can anyone tell me their specialist math experience? How did everything go? Was it really hard?

Yo

I did specialist maths for semester 1 of this year.
Generally, people who do specialist maths are somewhat interested in maths and ready to invest time into achieving a decent mark.

For me personally, some parts of the course such as complex numbers, sequences and series, and kinematics were really interesting, however, when we started spending more time on proofs and geometry I realised that this was no longer enjoyable. Also, I gave some thought about what I wanted to do after school and i feelt that it was more beneficial for me to do biology instead of specialist maths.

Is specialist maths hard? That's subjective. (kid in my class had an average of 100%) ( i found it easy at times and challenging at some points aswell)
Yes, most people agree that it is somewhat challenging but fun at the same time ( if u get what I mean).

Just keep in mind that spec is not a bludge subject and that scaling shouldn't be your only motive for picking this subject up. If you feel that you can handle spec than I recommend you go for it.

Math is my favourite subject at school, I want to do all 3 math. However I am scared that I might not do well on it.

Well for starters if maths is your favourite subject you should definitely pursue it.

You shouldn't be worried or not if you won't do good in it. As long as you put in the effort and genuinely somewhat enjoy mathematics you should be fine.
