As the term 3 holidays approach and term 4 draws near, I wanted to ask what specific things for English you guys recommend doing or are going to do over the holidays to prepare for the VCAA exams. I want to get a thread going so we can help each other out!

I'll start - I think one of the first things I'm going to do is re read all my texts!  :D

Re-reading your texts is a good idea! It’s a great way to refresh your memory, but just be careful not to be reading it for the sake of reading. Continue to find quotes, examples, motifs, ideas etc.

Other ppl things I would recommend:
- brainstorming/ mind maps - you could try picking a theme then writing as many quotes and examples etc as you can think of. It’s a great revision tool that helps with you practising to recall information and organise your thoughts and make meaningful connections.
- practice essays - remember also to do essay plans and annotate your argument analysis!
- read literary reviews and articles to do with your texts. This helps you to develop more sophisticated ideas and build up good relevant vocabulary.
