Thoughts on double degree of Monash Commerce and Commerce Specialist

Hey !
Is anyone doing this double degree ? What are your thoughts ?

I've decided to do Commerce despite having done no business based vce subjects. However I'm not sure if I want to pair this with the Commerce specialist degree.

I've heard that people tend to do double degrees with Commerce for flexibility so that's why I'm leaning towards a double degree.

Monash gives you more possible majors to specialise in with their double commerce degree but if possible, I think you will be better off in Melbourne because their single Commerce degree gives you lots of different disciplines to choose from and will set you up well.

Melbourne was actully my first preference haha but I just got at offer for a scholarship at Monash hence me reordering my preferences again. I also live pretty close to Monash so yeah

What areas of commerce are you interested in?

In the double degree you'll be able to delve quite deeply into at least two different areas of commerce, so as long as you are interested in those areas I would say go for it.

An extra year at university is well worth it for the extra flexibility in my opinion; another year for an extra degree is a very good time investment.

BTW, don't worry about not having done any business subjects in VCE. I didn't do anything related to economics before university and I ended up doing very well in the content at Monash. There is basically zero assumed knowledge.
