The subject you like is more important but most of uni require Chem as a compulsory subject for science/medical courses while Physics is optional

Really though, it depends on what courses you want to do. For most bachelor of science type courses, they usually ask for chemistry OR physics (or biology etc.), in which case it doesn't really matter.

Even if you don't have a specific idea yet, you should have a general idea of what you'd like to do, hence I would look into a number of courses you're interested in and double check their prerequisites first.  You don't want to be in the situation that half way through year 12 there's a course you want to apply for and you can't do it because you made the wrong choice and didn't do chemistry or you didn't do physics in VCE (you could replace chemistry and physics with any other VCE subject, the point I'm making is go check specifically the courses you're interested in).

As laseredd said, it depends on what you want to do really, and what interests you.
If Physics interests you, but you want to go into Commerce, nothing wrong with that.
Then again, if you want to major in Pharmacology or something, you'd place higher priority on getting good at Chemistry than Physics.

Though I can tell you, Uni Physics is slightly more interesting and well-planned than VCE Physics

Absolutely agree with Vegemitepi. I truly regret doing physics now.
