Trade Period, Free Agency, Draft

All discussion here!

Looks like Gaff is off to North, Lynch to Richmond.

I don't want to lose Hogan at all tbh but am pretty resigned to the fact he's probably leaving. Pretty keen on May and KK (despite concussion concerns).

Thoughts on the period so far?

tfw we get Gaff, Polec, Hall etc. and still manage to stuff it up somehow.

Apparently you guys are trying to get Preuss. Not impressed (both @ Melb and the fact NM have only themselves to blame due to lack of opportunity). Goldy is OK but definitely not the same as what he was in his prime. All I can say is, it better be a bloody good deal.

I don't think you're going to get value for Preuss if he comes to Melbourne. I don't understand his decision at all unless we've told him we'll play both him and Gawn (which would be a questionable decision IMO). But yeah, I'd imagine you'd be getting unders if he wants out.

meh, if I was Preuss who moved from north queensland to Melb for AFL footy and continuously got shafted in favour of a ruckman who's probably going to retire soon and paid overs, i'd want out too.

I'm happy they're addressing the whole midfield / run issue and also thrilled people want to come to us now (albeit $$$ reasoning), but I wouldn't mind it either if they dedicated some cash to keeping the talent we have. I read somewhere (can't remember) that Goldy's one of the highest paid NM players. There's an interesting observation, when you consider the other guys in our team.

Sure, but Melbourne would surely be one of the last teams you'd join if you were looking to become a number one ruck.

Good on him from the loyalty perspective. If I was treated like that after an incident i'd probably stay too. What i'm really bloody annoyed about is the media and the fact that so many of them were saying 'stay', 'leave' etc. It's extremely irresponsible, especially if it isn't true. Would not hurt to do some fact finding or wait until you know for sure....

I don't like the idea of paying for players/success either tbh. As much as I would've liked Gaff, I don't think it's the answer to our issues.

Rumour mill has started on Dom Tyson to North.

Geez... not the A grader I was thinking of. What are they thinking? They better not trade Preuss for him.

Pretty flat about this Hogan trade. We got unders.

EDIT: Essentially Hogan and Kent for 6 and 23. Terrible IMO.

U guys just got Steven May for Pick 6.... i'd question whether that's a good deal too tbh.

In other news: We just traded 31 for 47, 49, 55.. Loading up for those father/son/acad picks :)

May and Kolodjashnij. Indifferent on the May/KK trade, but definitely got unders for Hogan - particularly considering he's contracted.
