Should I take English & Literature Extension?

I currently take Accelerated Literature, so am writing my IA1 next week. I do relatively well in Lit (91% for Units 1 and 2), although it is my worst subject. My mate told me his older brother took extension and actually did better in it than he did in regular english. So, I am wondering if I should possibly take extension. I do well enough in my other subjects to achieve the ATAR I will need, so if I did, it would mainly be out of interest. Due to the complex nature of the coursework and assessment tasks, would it be beneficial for uni scholarship applications to have done the subject, as I have been told that it is very similar to a uni course?
