Best classical/no lyric music for studying?

Hey guys,

Classical music for my studying periods are usually incredibly effective, however i've gotten a bit (used?) to the ones that i'm currently listening to.

Any recommendations would be wonderful! (OSTs that don't have lyrics are also really welcomed) :)

Much thanks in advance

Take a look at Ludovico Einaudi and Nils Frahm. Mogwai is an instrumental post-rock band, so not classical, but you should definitely check them out (Their album 'Les Revenants' is a good place to start). Adrian Johnston is good too. He performed a lot of music from the film 'Brideshead Revisited'. David Arkenstone's album 'Celtic Journeys' is good if you're into Irish music. I would also recommend The Piano Guys and 2Cellos. Both perform instrumental covers of modern pop music (Not sure if this is a little too upbeat for studying though :P)

i find dubstep pretty good for things like math/coding/excel work when you are doing questions and exercises. if its your thing just find any 1 hour long gaming dubstep mix because they generally have no lyrics

best of luck

Yah +1 this, but I just have a playlist of EDM instead of dubstep, and it works. Try it out hamo94, ill list a few:

- Don Diablo - On my mind
- Blasterjaxx - snake
- LoaX - What matters
- Whyel - Bass drop

xD

I went to a TSFX lecture and the lecturer went over this for quite awhile. She specifically said to listen to baroque styled music especially Mozart's Sonata for two piano in D major. This is the only piece that's been proven to increase exam marks supposedly.

The lecturer said to only listen to this sort of music if you're unmotivated or completing difficult work and to also listen to some of the piece before exams.

Don't mean to be a prick, but Mozart is generally considered "classical", baroque would be bach and handel etc :P

No problem, I just repeated what the lecturer said so I wouldn't have a clue about the differences  :-X

The lecturer is probably referring to an old-ish study that showed that listening to a Mozart piano sonata improved spatial reasoning skills for ~15 minutes after listening. It's not like listening to Mozart will boost your exam scores by any reasonable amount. Just listen to whatever you find conductive to study

Personally, I listen to the Ring cycle. I only let myself take study breaks between the operas.

I really like Adrian Von Ziegler for study music; some of his stuff is kinda distracting though. Most of the 1/2 hour mixes are good

Pretty much anything by Rob Scallon works well for me. I had this on repeat for the last exams, though. Coincidentally, half of his stuff is my alarm, I'm actually surprised I still like him...

Also, VSQ can be quite good, but you've gotta be careful if it gets too boppy or you just sit there dancing instead of studying...

check out some post-rock like mogwai or explosions in the sky :)

This is one of my faves but I have yet to work out how to get it to replay without the intro (start at 1m)
