A bit later in the holidays (leaving late January) but I'm going on a month-and-a-half long Europe trip in the new year, and I have never been more excited for something in my life omg. The furthest I've ever been away from home/family was for 5 nights in the Blue Mountains. This will be over a month, on the other side of the world, some of which I'm spending completely on my lonesome! Destinations not yet set in stone, but current plan;

For the first 13 days I'm with my best friend, and we're travelling to; Amsterdam, the Netherlands (2 nights) --> Paris, France (3 nights) --> Moscow, Russia (3 nights) --> St Petersburg, Russia (2 nights) (Russia is what I am most looking forward to!!! I will literally be able to go see Lenin in the flesh. Like it's actually him. He's dead. But it's still him. Will probably cry.) --> Budapest, Hungary (3 nights).

Then she is leaving and I'm on my own for roughly 2 weeks, so I'm planning on staying in Hostels and travel to; Ljubljana, Slovenia (2 nights) --> Vienna, Austria (2 nights) --> Prague, Czech Republic (3 nights) --> Germany (3 nights, probably in Berlin but not 100% sure yet) --> Ireland (3 nights, either in Dublin or Cork - seeing family I've never met before!)

Then, my Mum is meeting me in England and we're going to see all the family together in the UK and France, then we're going to Italy! So that means; London, England (2 nights) --> Suffolk, England (1 night) --> Brighton, England (1 night) --> Normandy, France (2 nights), Loire Valley, France (3 nights) --> Venice, Italy (1-2 nights), Florence, Italy (1-2 nights) --> Naples, Italy (1 night - going to see Pompeii and Herculaneum!!!) --> Rome, Italy (1-2 nights). Then we're flying back to Sydney from Rome, arriving back right before the Semester starts (or well... a week after it starts oops).

If anyone has been to any of the places above, really keen to hear any recommendations of things to do, how you liked it, where you'd recommend staying, etc. etc. :) Not sure if I'm going to be able to go on exchange anymore next year for annoying reasons I don't want to go into (cries), so hopefully this will make up for it!!

OOOOoooo cool!! Especially Madrid - wish I could fit that in in the holiday, but it's a bit out of the way so I had to skip it :( (same with iceland - pretty devo about that one). How did getting the Visa for Russia go? Pretty smooth? All the steps are pretty intimidating aha, though definitely worth it is the long run!
