You do not need to worry or stress about that; the ones in charge will figure it out sooner or later. Focus on studying whilst in quarantine, because school is basically a waste of time during the preparation for the test. Now you have extra time to study, revise, and focus on the test. Don't worry, the test will happen  :)

I can see how it might seem from your perspective but I’d have to disagree. From a person who went through the process of the selective entry exam, I would highly recommend still making sure you are focused in school. School gives you a lot more than just content knowledge.

Yeah I am still definitely going to keep up to date with the textbook and everything. But once I finish the work that I am required to, which is early all the time, I would study for the exam. At school the teacher makes me work with the Cambrige Math Methods 1/2 textbook, so I don't think math is an issue for me.
That's a good idea, just keep in mind how you prepare though. I'm sure someone has already told you this but (from my experience) I really recommend that, as well as doing work from the textbook, you also time yourself. The real test can be unpredictable and doing methods 1/2 means that you MUST know what maths comes before it so that you don't lose points on easy questions that others will know. The test conditions can make even those who are great at maths "forget" and get lower scores.  This applies to all 5 tests. Just a heads up. Use your time wisely and good luck :)

Hey everyone! I was thinking, maybe we could all use some 3rd party application (or this if it works) to make a group chat to talk about this. It would be nice to hear all of your thoughts and maybe even make some new friends who are in the same shoes as I am  ;D

I definitely think there is a possibility of this happening, as earlier this morning ANU had announced that it would not be taking ATAR into consideration for university, but rather year 11 results and early year 12 marks. I think it would look quite silly on the Victorian government, especially because the premier of Victoria, Daniel Andrews is quite pre cautious when it comes to corona and if they held such a comparatively "unimportant" (keep in mind university entrance is a LOT more important than selective entry high school entrance) it would make the SEU look stupid. In my opinion, I think they will delay postponing it a lot because if there is a cure and the exam is postponed, it will add stress to the examiners as they will have to mark it in a quicker time frame (especially with the essay portion.) Anyways, feel free to let me know your thoughts as I am very interested in what all of you have to say! :)

Even if the process is altered due to COVID-19, you'll know of it well in advance. Plus, everyone will be equal as you'll all be sitting the same assessments anyway.
I know it's a bit tricky to understand what's happening and predict what will happen but don't panic

Latest update from the Department of Education and Training website:The new date for the Selective Entry Examination is now 19 September 2020. The date for applications is being revised from 8 May 2020 to Friday 29 May 2020.

If you would like to keep updated visit;
https://www.education.vic.gov.au/parents/going-to-school/Pages/selective-entry-high-schools.aspx

I have also created a discord server dedicated to studies and preparation for the victorian selective schools exam, and specialist science schools exam, I am trying to expand the channel at the moment, we do currently have 30 people in it though. For past applicants, feel free to share tips for each section of the examination for this years test takers, on the server.

It would be very nice to hear all of your thoughts, and how you are studying at the moment, and even make some new friends who are in the same shoes as I am, given this stressful situation  ;D

I cannot even explain how happy I am upon hearing this news, just wanted to confirm this is real news?

What Science School can you apply for when you are in Year 8? That's my goal too! I thought it's only in Year9?!
