Toblerone. I don't know why, but I love Toblerone.

Edit: (a few months later...) Not anymore though. I'm addicted to snakes now...

Tea, lots of tea to keep you company.
And a timer, I always feel more productive if I work in 30 minute blocks with a 5-10 break.

If you have the first then you don't necessarily need the second :P

true that, but you have to self study a lot :) It's easier and faster if you got a good teacher then you can get the concept of things quicker.

I agree, but the point is it's not a must-have, you can still do well on your own (although yes it is harder).

A printer is a huge one in my opinion. Helps to be able to print out work, notes and extra material that you find online that can be of assistance. Especially if your like me and find it difficult to actually learn things of a screen as well as get sore eyes after an extended period of reading of a screen.

A laptop which isn't too heavy. People always tell me my MacBookAir's screen is too small but it's so much easier to carry around and that way if I ever need to take my laptop to school for a presentation or just for working during a free, I don't actually notice that I am carrying the laptop and it's way easier to carry around the hallways.

Extra resources. The text book is good but it really helps to have an extra resource to explain some of the topics that are harder to understand in different words to the textbook. Additional resources don't even have to cost money and can be in the form of getting notes from AN and/or friend/teacher as well as various websites, which don't even have to be targeted to VCE but just deal with relevant content.

A direction. You probably wouldn't have much motivation to study unless you have some direction.
