So i have a preference for Biomed(1st) and BSc(2nd) both at Monash uni and was wondering does this affect my selection for the uni if i dont get into biomed(1st) and they look at my preference for Bsc(2nd) in any way. So is it all right to apply for different courses at the same uni?

It's alright, it doesn't affect your selection.

I doesn't affect course selection at all in the current system.

Off topic but if you think about it having the same institution in your prefs could only help your course selection. My father (>20 years ago in a different offers system) put the same institution in the top 4-5 places and got in despite getting a lower score than what would be equivalent to "clearly in" on the basis that the selectors realised he really liked their institution (that's at least what I've been told).
