SACs and GAs

Hey AN,

for a subject like legal with only one exam how are the different marks for each unit calculated? I acknowlege there would be 1 ga for unit 3 and another for unit 4 sacs but when vcaa works out what grade you get for your sacs (and statistical moderation) how do they determine it since normally they give the highest exam mark as the 1st ranked persons sac mark?

They still scale the 1st ranked persons sac mark up to the highest exam mark, they just do the same thing separately for both units - so if you’re the same rank for both units you should get the same mark for both ga1 and ga2 (except vaca uses mysterious scaling process not known to us mere mortals so maybe not exactly the same, but close enough to).
