Adorable 😍

My boyfriend has 2x 8ish year old cats (Oscar and Jet) and they're adorable. Oscar has an adorable little meow that he definitely uses to get food (as evidenced by his belly). Once he nipped my pants because I wasn't patting him enough lol. Jet is pretty quiet except for right before she jumps up on you, when she lets out a little "brrrrrp" and proceeds to purr like a chainsaw.

Sooo cute! Jazzy purrs like a little motorboat too, but not often. She saves purrs for special occasions. Last night she purred herself to sleep next to me, then started dreaming and twitching frantically. I think she was fighting in her dream because that's the only time I've ever heard her do a low growl. Woke her up after a little while and she licked my hand.

She's currently tearing up and down the hallway after a piece of string

Gosh both of your cats sound so cute. The only time my cat gives me any attention is when he’s hungry haha.

Also sometimes late at night when everyone else (particularly the dogs) are asleep he’ll come and rub himself against my legs and so of course I’ll start patting him and he won’t let me go for aggeeess because he’s too cute and meows at me pitifully when I stop scratching him above his ears. I have lost a lot of sleep this way haha.

I actually used to have another cat (Gracie) - she had 3 legs and was blind in one eye when we got her (my sister’s teachers’s neighbour died and the neighbours grandkids cleared out and sold the house and left the cat behind and so the teacher asked if anyone wanted a cat and my sister convinced my mum to keep her). She was a super cuddly cat and she used to drape herself across my shoulders and she’d give me cuddles and put her head on one side of my head and her paw on the other side and put really loudly in my ear. She was a bit of a weird one though - she was terrified of cars and men (she loved my little brother until he was 12 ish). I only had her for a couple of years before she died but I loved her (I’ll have to see if I can find a photo).

Sorry for the long rambley slightly off-topic post about my cats lol.

Same! My cat only meows when she's hungry. She also hates been hugged or picked up, which makes life difficult when we have to trim her nails or put flea prevention stuff- it was even more difficult when we had to put pain killers using a syringe after her surgery.

Apart from that, she does like to sleep next to me, which is nice but also becomes problematic when I feel like I need to go to the bathroom 10 minutes after she's settled on my tummy lol.

It's no secret I'm getting a dog and am stoked about it - I think about 98% of my conversations recently have revolved around it, so apologies to all who have had to deal with my excitement haha.

Here he is as a newborn.

I had another thread where I was looking for advice on what type of dog to get, but I want this thread to be a communal place or everybody and anybody to upload photos and videos of their pets. :D
