Sorry for all the questions, but do you think I could get away with no textbooks for the first few weeks of uni? I really have no clue what to purchase :(
i guess you can always borrow from their library.

Yeah that's fine, no one purchases them that early. Some students don't even need them. Unlike high school the textbooks don't actually play a big part in the course. Just wait till the lecturers tell you what to get. Or ask your student mentor during orientation if you have someone who knows what they're talking about.

Also with borrowing, the loan times at the Monash Parkville library for books that are in-demand are really short. You'll see. If you're someone who like to borrow books, I'd recommend you ask the library about signing up for a CAVAL card so you can borrow from the University of Melbourne down the road.
