I'm picking up this subject as a 3/4 this year, and I have been instructed to collect articles as part of my summer preparations, so consequently I'm not too familiar with the subject and I apologise if these are not completely relevant:

Grammar is a tool to enhance understanding

“We are all alone, born alone, die alone, we shall all someday look back on our lives and see that, in spite of our company, we were alone the whole way. I do not say lonely -- at least, not all the time -- but essentially, and finally, alone. This is what makes your self-respect so important, and I don't see how you can respect yourself if you must look in the hearts and minds of others for your happiness.”

These articles are great guys.  Keep up the good work.

Be sure to go through them and record the relevant examples so you can have them later on for essay writing.

If anyone is having trouble opening the Cuttings Journal, I have uploaded a WinRar for Windows which will allow you to open it.

Thankyou SO MUCH for posting this. I changed into Language, turns out before the holidays everyone doing language was instructed to collect articles for the end of this week... as part of a SAC! There was meant to be something in with my report... of course there wasn't. Hopefully this will get me by.

Thanks!

Found this one a while ago.

Neologism
http://www.theage.com.au/world/omg-muffin-top-make-the-cut-for-dictionary-20110326-1caq3.html

PC

Language Play/PC
Wil Andersons' tweet 'The burglars are better at Hungry Jacks'
This was when a string of robberies occurred at McDonalds stores in Melbourne.  It is a pun on the regular Hungry Jacks slogan which I am sure you all know.
Funny...creative...insensitive?

Take care if discussing.  It is a sensitive issue.

I will try to find some more.

I hope the article collecting and example collaboration is going well.  :)
