Gauging interest: regular analytical commentary/essay practice?

Hi all,

Just seeing if anybody would be interested in having a weekly/fortnighty/monthly or something thread to practise writing analytical commentaries and/or essays for English Language. If all goes well, it would be similar to the AN Language Analysis Club for English, run by Lauren and Heidi.

Post away if you have any thoughts. :)

Yay! Okay, cool - it sounds like we'll have sufficient interest, then. :) I'd love to see the EngLang board super active next year!

OMG that would be amazing! In fact, I would assume implementing forums for all the sections of the exam would be popular amongst the AN Englang community :)

Right on! If we were to do Section A (the short response), too, how could we make that work? What if I put up a text to discuss and started us off with a few exam-style questions, and then those who answer them also leave a question of their own? This a) expands the question pool significantly, and b) gets you thinking about what types of questions might be asked.

Thoughts? :)

Alrighty, I'm thinking we'll try an analytical commentary first. What sort of text do people want? A conversation transcript? A written text? Just anything at all? :)

An informal spoken (conversation) text would be appropriate since informal comes first.
