Hello,

One of my favourite parts of Japanese SL is learning Kanji and as a result I've learnt some that aren't in the 200 prescribed ones, am I still allowed to use these?

Thanks in advance.

Yes you definitely can! I'm not sure how much it will affect anything, but it's a positive to use extra kanji!

Just to add, you won't necessarily gain any extra marks for using them, but you can lose marks for writing them incorrectly, so if you are going to write a non-prescribed VCE kanji, make sure you're certain you can write it correctly :))
頑張って!
