Doing well in competitive math does not correspond to getting a high score in methods, my tutor always talks about how his student who was a bronze medalist in the international maths olympiad and how he only got 43 for methods.

Nevertheless, this guy sounds like a genius. :)

lol, Dr He loves his examples of past students......  i remember that example and how he said thet guy re did methods in eyar 12 and stil lonly got like.... 46 or soemthing. The Dr would say how his own daughter who is "not gifted in math" *cough* got a 47 ro seomthing

I think it was a comparison between local maxima and absolute maxima :D

You mean prizes in AMC... if you get a medal in AMC every single year (there are people who have done so) you are an absolute genius :)
But yeah, still all that's pretty impressive. 1st in biology this year? :O Congrats Thushan, going for 50 in bio too?

I wish comp maths helped with methods more but nvm, as long as I take it seriously next year, it should be fine. Still, most olympians get great scores in MM/Spec/UMEP. :)

i can do anything as long as i have my trusty cas calculator :P

What the hell was I thinking.  Exam 2 is stuuupid!  CAS calculator always screws me over.  POS.

And the multi choice are just painful...

6 marks lost on MAV 2010 multiple choice...

I still don't get question 17, lol their solutions are horrible.

Worst mark so far on exams :(, I don't want to be getting less as

lol a ll the spech level 5 challenge class stayed behin after on our last class and he talked for ages about his phd and explaned what all the symbols of his banner mean (if you've done dr he you'll know what i'm talking about)
