50 in Psych in 2010

Guys, assuming an A+ average, probably at least top 3 ranking in a moderate cohort. How many marks could be lost on the Mid-year and end-of-year, if any?.
taking into account the mid-year was slightly more difficult this year.

For a 50 you pretty much need to get a total of 355/360 over both exams will a solid ranking.
so for example getting 87.5/90 for one and 90/90 for the other is around 50.

the mid year was only more challenging for me because i barely studied. i started 2 weeks before cramming in memorising it all and spamming prac exams in the week before.. ><
overall my combined grade was 167/180 over both exams.

167/180 for a 44. NICE! Hopefully I dropped less than 5 on the first (I think I got 85-87/90, not getting SoM) and then less than 3 on the next one. 174/180 would be sweet, 48? :D

Yer I really wanna know what you need too! I think it would be definitely lower this year as the A+ cut off was the lowest its ever been in the study design. The best indication would be to find out what somebody from 2005 who got a 50 in psych had on both exams as the cut off was closest in that year (155/180 compared to 2010's 153/180). I guess we will have to wait till the end of the year when one of the VNers gets a statement of marks with a 50.

Just out of curiosity (as I think this may well be what I'll achieve by the end of the year =]), what study score would I be looking at with a total exam score of 160/180 ?

no, more like low 40s.
i had 167/180 total for my 44 with a very strong SAC ranking in an above avg cohort.

I got a 50 back in 2007. From memory, I think I lost 2.5 marks in exam one (5 if you double it). I didn't get a statement of marks for exam two, but I'm pretty sure I only lost one mark. So there is quite a bit of leeway there. I was ranked first for SACs also.

If you aren't ranked first on SACs, you're relying on the people above you to do very well. This is fine if they're all going to get 50s, but it's unlikely that you would get a 50 otherwise. However, of course, you can still do extremely well.
