Can't memorise

Hi all

I'm picking up bm next year without 1/2. In the mean time I have decided to begin going through the content and have noticed that not even completed the first AOS, I am unable to remember the content precisely. This has lead me to think about the other AOS's and including the other unit. I'm genuinely distraught as I was hoping to have BM in my top 4 subjects. I'm now considering not picking it up next year and instead want to choose a subject that doesn't require much memorising.
My subjects are:
English
further maths
physics
methods
chemistry
(empty)

At the moment, I'm thinking about spesh but unsure of the other subjects that I can pick up.

Please help :(

Have you tried completing any practice questions? Busman is more about application than memorisation, and for most questions, you can even use common sense. If you want to do well in bus man start with completing your notes using a range of resources such as your textbook, TeachingBubble and edrolo. Then make flashcards for your definitions, which are very important (don't worry about memorising exact definitions, just ensure you have the keywords - check past VCAA assessors reports for these). Then start doing practice questions open book, then try to do some half open book and half closed book. Eventually, start doing them closed book. Also try to do timed questions, because busman SACs tend to be short on time - to ensure you receive the best possible mark start with the larger questions if possible e.g. 6, 8 and 10 markers.

Definitely wouldn't give up. How are you going about studying for it atm?

Haven't given up yet but have considered putting very little effort in BM compared to my other subjects. I haven't officially begun BM with a class as its clashing with my other subjects and therefore will do it next year (year 12), however, I have briefly gone through the first AOS and its just not being instilled in my head.

I memorise by relating it back to common sense, which is what most of bus man is just in fancy titles, and by doing practice questions. You also need to find common links between the topics. There is simply too much content to memorise it on its own without connecting the ideas, and then applying that to case studies and questions.
