20* - which basically means less than 20, at which point it's not reported what you ACTUALLY gotI know you have to be doing really ass to get that score, but so far in methods I am barely passing. So I think I might be one of those who score under 20 for methods whole doing well in my other subjects.
But also, you gotta be in a particularly bad situation to do that badly. I know people in regional schools who failed all their SACs and got higher than that. According to the VCAA website, 93% of all students get a study score of 20 or higher
barely passingIf you're barely passing, if you are passing at all, you're not gonna do that badly. I don't think so, anyhow.
I guess Methods is one of those that not everyone is gonna do so maybe not go so badly? Is that how it even works? If you're barely passing, if you are passing at all, you're not gonna do that badly. I don't think so, anyhow. Are you sure? My cohort is average so I can't imagine barely passing and being ranked bottom of my class. To clarifyI don't really know, but I think that just getting, what, 45%? is still a good enough mark to not get less than 20 study score.
Let me clarify: when I say my friend was in regional Victoria and failing, I mean he was averaging like 10%. If the dude was getting that at a shit school and still got a 20, you'll probably do better than you think you will. I'd probably assume around about 25, give or take a few points. In fact, let's handle this using maths 😉Oh lol at least he isn't the only one who got like 10% on a test. I scored some 10% as well, but I did not average that score (it happened now and then tho). Some regional schools do well, so I think what you say also depends on the school. My school is ranked top 200 so I would say it is around average. I don't know any year 12's and my teacher is new to the school so he doesn't know either. Can you explain what deviation is?
The study score is a kind-of-sort-of normally distributed with a mean of 30 and standard deviation of 7. Accord to VCAA, last year the SAC marks have an average score of 63.6 and standard deviation of 20.2. This would put a SAC score in the 43.4-63.6 regime in the 23-30 study score range, assuming your school's SAC score doesn't change - which shouldn't happen if your school is truly as average as you say it is 😉 (in truth, ask your teacher if the SAC marks at your school typically change, or the year 12s at the end of the year if their SAC mark changed)

You can still get your 92 atar. You also only really need 16 units in total (from yr 11 to yr 12) to complete VCE so even if you fail but pass your other subjects you will be ok.
